FENTANYL EXPLAINED
WHY IS FENTANYL BEING ADDED TO RECREATIONAL DRUGS?
Fentanyl increases the potency and addictive potential when it is added to other drugs. It is cheap to manufacture and easy to distribute. Most fentanyl is manufactured in make-shift labs and smuggled across the U.S. border, although some of the pill manufacturing and lacing happens in the U.S.
WHY IS FENTANYL SO DANGEROUS?
Some people who take opioids on a daily basis have built up some tolerance to opioids, but not always. Most people who are exposed to fentanyl have never been exposed to opioids, and an extremely small amount of fentanyl exposure can be deadly. Because fentanyl is so potent, just a few grains can kill you. It is being sold on social media platforms such as Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram. If a pill isn’t purchased from a pharmacy, it isn’t safe for you to take! Do not believe anyone who says the drugs they sell are safe because they test them. They would have to crush each and every pill they sold to see if they contain fentanyl. Some pills in a batch can have enough fentanyl to kill you, and if not, it will have enough to get you addicted. Just a few grains of fentanyl can kill. Fentanyl is killing long time drug users, and those trying drugs for the first time.
